Description: One of the oldest railroads in the US and the first common carrier, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (B&O) served the area from New York to Philadelphia to Baltimore to Washington and thence westward through Maryland into West Virginia and Pennsylvania; it extended as far west as Chicago and St. Louis and as far north as Detroit, Buffalo and Rochester. The Monongah Division No. 11 was a B&O division in West Virginia that included the Monongahela River, Grafton, Bellington, Coalton, Norton, Gassaway, Pickens, Coal & Coke, and other branches. Much was abandoned with the consolidation of B&O/C&O lines. The Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad (C&O) took control of the B&O in 1963 and renamed the railroads the Chessie System in 1973. in 1980, the Chessie merged with the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad and its lines to form CSX Transportation, today one of the four largest railroads in the nation. The Monongah Division No. 11 was a B&O division in West Virginia that included the Monongahela River, Grafton, Bellington, Coalton, Norton, Gassaway, Pickens, Coal & Coke, and other branches. Much was abandoned with the consolidation of B&O/C&O lines. For auction is a pass to the Monongah Division Veteran Employee Association; it is from 1935. The pass is in very good condition, in spite of being over 80 years old. It has no rips or tears, and all writing/markings are from its issuance and use.
