Description: This is a vintage 1938-39 Orcajo Reds baseball Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) featuring Harry Craft of the Cincinnati Reds, graded a PSA 3. The card is made of card Tough to find vintage 1938-39 Orcajo Reds PC786 postcard of Harry Craft of the Cincinnati Reds. From 1937 through 1939 the Dayton, OH photographer, Orcajo, issued a series of postcards of the Cincinnati Reds and one non-Red, Joe DiMaggio. Some of the cards carried ads for Val Decker Packing, a meat company, the Metropolitan Clothing Co., or the local WHIO radio station. This card features Harry Craft, the Reds center fielder. Craft played from 1937 to 1942 and was a top defensive outfielder who was inducted in the Reds Hall of Fame. The card sports the Val Decker packing ad on its front. The Val Decker Packing Company grew from a small butcher shop in Piqua in the 1870s to a slaughter house in the 1880s to a meat packer in 1898 -- eventually becoming a huge regional, then national, meat product supplier. The company kept churning until 1981, producing ham, hot dogs, and other meats that it dubbed as being of high "Piqua-lity."
