Description: This is a yearbook, "THE 1937 HAWKEYE", from the University of Iowa at Iowa City. This yearbook is in very nice condition -- clean and almost unused except for a very small amount of moisture which caused some minor damage to fewer than 10 pages. The book has many pictures of students and coed campus life including organizations, fraternities, sororities and sports teams. There are individual pictures of members of the junior class. Individual pictures of the football team show two African-American brothers, Ozzie and Don Simmons from Fort Worth, Texas. Ozzie was a star running back and both were letter winners. There is extensive coverage of the football and basketball seasons as well as baseball and track. The book measures roughly 8 and 1/2 by 11 inches with 340 black and white pages printed on quality glossy stock. This book will be a neat item for the yearbook collector.
