The faintest of edge wear on the base of the cover boards, but otherwise sharp corners and edges. Cover pictorial is bright and unmarred. Interior pages are bright and clean, and we cannot find a stain or blemish. Dust jacket is whole and clean, currently in protective mylar; looks like there may be a ~3/4" tear between the letters “d” and “r” in “Children” (see photos). Crease in photo is in mylar, not DJ. · About the Author: Frederick Richardson (1862-1937) was an American illustrator of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, best remembered for his illustrations of works by L. Frank Baum. A native Chicagoan, Richardson studied at the St. Louis School of Fine Arts and at the Académie Julian in Paris. He taught at the Chicago Art Institute for seven years; Albert Henry Krehbiel and Dulah Evans Krehbiel were two of his students. He was ‘a slightly-built, gray-eyed man’ whose work ‘was strongly influenced by the Art Nouveau movement....’ Richardson followed that initial work [Baum Oz books] with many other book-illustration projects, including editions of the works of Hans Christian Andersen, Aesop's Fables, Mother Goose, Pinocchio, and East of the Sun and West of the Moon, plus two volumes in the series of Andrew Lang's Fairy Books.” (from Wikipedia)We will ship USPS Media Mail.
