They offered subscription memberships for both supporters and flying members, with individual lessons charged on a daily or hourly rate.The Chief Instructor was Joan Meakin [Price], a pioneering female pilot who “was the first person to be towed to this country from Germany in a glider”, and was the only female flyer in Sir Alan Cobham's Flying Circus in the mid 1930s.
