Description: Up for auction is a beautiful censored cover from a Jewish person whose name I cannot read in the ghetto of Brzezin Poland when it was occupied by Germany to Alfred Schwarcbaum in Lucerne Switzerland. Postmarked November 23, 1941. Priced to sell. Great censorship and receiver markings. The ghetto was very small with only 6,000 Jews confined to it and it was created in May 1940 and subsequently liquidated in May, 1942. Very scarce item. Schwarcbaum was a wealthy Jew from Bendzin Poland who escaped to Switzerland and conducted relief and rescue work for Jews in occupied Poland as well as supporting armed resistance by Jews in the ghettos. Exceptionally rare piece of Holocaust postal history. E bay does not allow me to include links in my descriptions or they delist the item and punish me, but google Schwarcbaum for more on his fascinating history. For the serious collector of Judaica and Holocaust related philately this is an exceptional item. Cover is in excellent condition. Shipping will be a flat $4.00 within the continental U.S. for USPS mail with insurance. Overseas airmail shipping is $14.00. Insurance and registered mail fees included. Questions?
