Description: 1943 US Philippines APAYAO 20 Centavos WW2 Emergency Script Note #S122 Mimeographed in red paper. APAYAO Emergency Note. Issued by the authority of the President of the Philippines to meet the prescribed budget. Payable in Silver currency or legal tender currency of the United States of equivalent value. Used during the Japanese Occupation 1943. VF condition with minor wear on top. ScarceThis Apayao note was produced by mimeograph in 1943 after Japanese military forces had driven the Provincial Government to a remote area. On April 1, 1943 Governor Ayochok was captured by the Japanese. He was among those killed in a mass execution of officials and civilians at Ripang in mid-1943. Subsequently the Japanese also captured the official records of the Currency Committee, so no information survives as to quantity printed. Mimeographed in sheets of ten and / or twelve on a different color paper of each denomination. More than one stencil was prepared for some denominations, resulting in numerous minor varieties due o typing mistakes in spacing, alignment and spelling. -----------------------oo0oo----------------------- SHIPPING and PAYMENT: We ship Worldwide We will combine shipping cost for multiple items, please wait for my invoice after sale.
