Description: This auction is for an oversized photograph entitled "Eighth Annual Banquet of the Venetian Club Auxiliary of Mutual Benefit - Venetian Hall - April 30, 1944" that was done by Acme Photo. This organization was an Italian American social club. This photo measures 20 inches by 12 inches.Internet research indicates the the organization’s official name was initially the Venetial Club - Mutual Benefit Society. The club’s goal was to unite people from the Provinces of Venetia, Venetia Guilia, and Tridentina, Italy, and to promote reciprocal aid and assistance in the case of sickness, accident and death of its members. In 1944, the club was located at 4409 Montclair in Detroit, Michigan. it moved from this location a year later. The organization still exists, operating out of the Club Venetian Banquet Center in Madison Heights, Michigan.This photograph is in very nice condition overall. It has been rolled up over the years in storage and will be shipped that way. One couple in the photo appears to have been circled at some point and there is a very small tear on one edge.
