Description: 1950s George Nakashima Studio Full Size Dovetailed Walnut Headboard Bed Cabinet Click on image to enlarge Listed for sale is a very special 1950s George Nakashima headboard, produced at the Nakashima Woodworking studio in New Hope, Pennsylvania. This stunning original example is the variant with a storage compartment and its constructed in solid black walnut. It features dovetail joinery along the top edges of the headboard and has recessed pulls on the undersides of the sliding doors. The headboard is in lovely original condition, with the name of the original owner on the underside of the piece. It shows only minimal light wear from use. See photos. The headboard measures 54 inches wide by 32 inches tall and 12.5 inches deep. The walnut slab spanning across the piece measures 10 inches from the ground and 16 inches from the top of that slab (near the bottom of the sliding doors). The buyer may pick up the furniture, have it shipped by our shipping partners (buyer will pay for full shipping cost, though will not have to arrange it), or discuss potential delivery within reason following the end of the auction.
