Description: For sale is the lower unit for a 1954 Johnson 5.5 hp outboard, may fit other models too. This lower unit is in good condition. It turns over smoothly and shifts correctly. The water pump impeller is a recent replacement. I do not know when the seals were last serviced on this gear box. There is a cold-weld repair(JB Weld?) on the gear case and the cav plate has a bit of bendy spot in it, other than that it is cosmetically in nice shape. See pics.
