Description: This is for an original August 30 1954 issue of Sports Illustrated with a Pamela Nelson cover featuring her in a bathing suit which has been encapsulated and graded 7.5 by CGC. This issue, only the third ever of Sports Illustrated, would come to be known as the first “swim suit” issue after the later swim suit issues became such a hit. The book is drop dead gorgeous and I don’t know why it didn’t grade higher. Maybe if you had it cleaned and pressed you could come back with a CGC 9. A gorgeous magazine and as more get graded, the higher graded books will become impossible to find. Check out the scan and email with any questions.
