Description: Vintage fold-out 1956 Esso road map of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware, printed more than 68 years ago. This map opens to 24" x 34" and has great detail on old highway alignments, with cartography by the General Drafting Company. On on the reverse side there's a map of the Chesapeake Bay region and inset plans of Baltimore, Norfolk, Washington, D.C., and Historic Richmond. The map was published by the Esso Standard Oil Company in 1956 and is dated in the legend. The artwork on the front cover shows the main span of the Bay Bridge, over the Chesapeake east of Annapolis, Maryland. Condition: This map is in very good, lightly used condition, with some faint wrinkles and creases. There are no rips, tears, or writing. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
