Description: 1959 Topps #483 Clint Courtney Washington Senators PSA 8 NM-MT MINT This is a PSA 8 Clint Courtney card with nice corners, straight edges, and centering measuring 40/60 (L-R) in a clean, clear slab. Courtney played 11 years in the majors after signing with the Yankees in ‘47. He was traded to the St. Louis Browns in ‘52. In all, he would play with 5 teams, primarily as a back up, left handed hitting catcher who could bang out hits, if given enough at bats. He batted .286 in ‘52, his first year with the Browns, in 119 games. After 11 years, he finished with a .268 batting average and left the game while playing for the Houston minor league club in 1964.
