1960 Two Kennedy Johnson Prez Campaign Window Shield Decals Mature Image on JFK

Description: Here's a pair of matching 5.5" x 6.25" paper decals from the 1960 election that a person could get wet to affix it to their home or business window, just like the decals for airplane model kits. That election pitted democrats John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson against republicans Richard M. Nixon and Henry C. Lodge. When the results came in it was so close that it was basically a tie, with JFK at 49.72% to Nixon's 49.55%. Even with all the voting irregularities surrounding the totals across the country, Nixon decided not to challenge the election and conceded the following afternoon. Think how history could have been dramatically changed if Nixon had challenged and then prevailed. No Dallas tragedy and also no Watergate. This style has the Democratic National Committee disclaimer at bottom on JFK and "Citizens for Kennedy and Johnson" on the LBJ example. And, if memory serves us, it shows a more mature image of JFK that was used later in the campaign. Since JFK was promoting himself as mature enough to be president, more full-faced, less-profile photos of him were put into use after the convention for the fall campaign. Whereas the primary and pre-DNC images - like the one in our 3/4 view decal (our item 276549934366) show him looking more like a kid.
