Description: original mixed-media painting collage by noted California Modernist/American Expressionist, Karolyn Wolf Eiseman (California/Oregon 1914-2007) -- titled by the artist 'Companions' -- this shows a Clowder of Cats in various poses of relaxation -- -- wonderful tactile work of considerable joy, but with a certain depth like the fading of shadows into the past giving a feel that is almost mystical -- -- likely circa late 1950s to 1960s period -- -- the painting is on cut-out tissue laid on stretched canvas and measures 24 by 30 in. -- -- the frame is slightly larger -- -- painting has some light wear -- as with most estate find paintings, this might benefit from professional cleaning -- - *Karolyn Maxine Wolf Eiseman was born in San Francisco, CA on Jan. 4, 1914. Karolyn Wolf studied at the California School of Fine Arts under [Ralph] Stackpole and Maurice Stern, and at UC Berkeley. After her marriage to Robert Eiseman in 1937, she lived in San Jose for 30 years. In 1979 she moved to Salem, OR and remained until her death in Dallas, OR on Dec. 24, 2007.
