Description: I own an extensive collection of ladies bonnets, hats caps from 1750 through 1890’s. Changes mimicked dress fashions as well as hairstyles. There were hats for every occasion , from walking riding morningwear and even home use. This exquisite example dates from the 1890’s. He began his career in the late 1940’s with the vast majority of this material in the 1950’s. There are several examples where no other copy exists. This archive documents America’s initial love for the open road encouraged in large part by the highway system expanded under the Eisenhower administration and the improvement in automobile technology.
