Description: Only 1 of 2 Unitas cards produced by Kahn's Weiners. A very hard to find regional issue- Kahn's limited production to only select teams from 1959 to 1962 and produced sets of 36 cards. In 1963 they expanded the set to 92 cards including players from all 14 NFL teams. Johnny Unitas is in the '63 & 64 sets ( the last year Kahn's put out cards). Packaged in hot dog wrappers the cards are prone to bad condition and usually came out of the package with damage and stains. A truly scarce set to find any examples of. Football was becoming popular in '63 but baseball was king and their baseball sets from that era are much more numerous and easier to find - (though still hard to come by). Unitas is the 2nd most desirable and valuable card from the group, trailing only the Jim Brown card.. -- free shipping
