Description: This is one of the most classic, presidential campaign bumper stickers "out there", which was made as an anti-John F. Kennedy item during 1963 and the run-up to his expected re-election announcement. Most people at the time anticipated a political match-up between conservative Arizona republican U.S. Senator, Barry Goldwater and JFK running for re-election, and there were a few dozen early items put out promoting Goldwater that were decidedly disparaging to the president. (See our item 305660978380 for another example). After all, politics ain't beanbag and going negative on your opponent goes clear back in American history to the two contests between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson when political parties evolved in 1796 and 1800. These 1963 items and the few pro-JFK examples which are dated for 1964 are highly sought after by political collectors. That's because no one could have anticipated the terrible events which occurred in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. How could anyone imagine these things were to seem in particularly poor taste after what happened? Needless to say, most everything was immediately withdrawn from circulation after JFK's assassination, with a lot of it being destroyed, making anything remaining, today, fairly rare. And here's one of those items, a 15" x 3 5/8" bumper sticker poking fun at "Camelot." This is in nice condition but does show some wear so please look at our images to judge condition for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase. S & H on it will be $6.50 sent well-protected with tracking. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence, and we'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases even though eBay says we won't. We just give you a refund for any overpayment. 9180
