Description: 7" wide by 10 1/2" long 3 – page letter on vintage military stationary with the image of a uniformed soldier in action ghosted into the front dated September 16, 1964 sent from a soldier named Billy Coons from Fort Collins near Colorado Springs. The letter has great content-Here are some excerpts: "I live with the 154th Ordinance Company here at Fort Carson 7 miles south of Colorado Springs. To my left is Cheyenne Mountain + to the back of it is Pikes Peak. To my right is a lot of foot hills. We are sort of in a valley like down here. But the whole view from here is just beautiful! I did real well at the end of basic. I was company + battalion high on proficiency test. I got 88 1/2 points out of 100 possible. The test covered military courtesy, guard duty, hand-to-hand combat, first aid, dismounted drill + review of ranks + rank identification. I am pretty happy to have done so good + also I was put up for the outstanding trainee of my cycle. My platoon sergeant said I was one of the best men he had ever had. He also told my folks a lot of good things about me. Yesterday I spent a little time at the post library + was looking for a few good books to read. I never did find one you had written. But I came across this book-Lincoln the President by J.G. Randall. It is real good + real informative. I guess you've read it and can tell me just what it is about. Well, it is time for chow so I'll close. Give my love to Aunt Lois. As Ever, Billy." Really a cool vintage one-of-a-kind item (See images below for clarification)-A great item ready for display-This is an ORIGINAL item, NOT A REPRODUCTION item! Postage information is listed at the bottom-$ 4.95 postage is required. 1964 Colorado Fort Carson Vietnam soldier 3 paged letter with GREAT content ---- Click images to enlarge Description Check it out...Here's a unique 7" wide by 10 1/2" long 3 – page letter on vintage military stationary with the image of a uniformed soldier in action ghosted into the front dated September 16, 1964 sent from a soldier named Billy Coons from Fort Collins near Colorado Springs. The standard sized Lincoln head penny in the photograph is there for size comparison ONLY and is not included in the package. We're just trying to help you figure out how big the item is. Many of the items are VINTAGE and although they are in very fine condition, they may not function as well as when they were made decades ago. So if you intend on using the old item, please be aware that we are selling it for collector value only. In other words, if you intend on using a 50+ year old letter opener and it breaks, don't get mad at us. It may be hard to believe, but we have received a couple negatives because people broke vintage items while trying to use them.
