Description: Welcome to Antique Poster ShopThe poster is one of the most lively and, at the same time, the most complex areas in graphic design, in art. The Soviet poster is a truly unique phenomenon, and in different years the authors of famous posters were outstanding Soviet artists, leading people of their time. The best artists of their time worked on propaganda posters, famous poets wrote slogans - thus, unique graphic schools were formed. Nowhere in the world did they teach the poster purposefully and systematically, as it was in the USSR.Rare Soviet posters today have to be searched for in different countries of the world. It's a paradox, but what was created in only a few copies and is known only to collectors is sometimes easier to find than what was produced in thousands of copies. Of the millions of campaign posters that have adorned the streets, classrooms, classrooms and hospital corridors for many decades, only a few have survived.Posters of the Soviet era are not only original works of graphic art, antiques and antique graphics, original retro gifts and interior items, but also truly historical documents. SIZE – 33 / 23 INCHES or 84 / 59 CENTIMETERS SLOGAN : GLORY TO OUR MOTHERLAND! 1964year THE PAINTER IS Mikhail Voldemarovich Reich (1904–1966) BiographyReyhPainter, graphic artist, illustrator. Excellent draftsman, organizer, laid the foundation for the development of art in Central Asia. Member of the Union of Artists of the Uzbek SSR. Mikhail Voldemarovich Reyh began his career as a graphic artist at the Military Shock School of Arts in Ashgabat (1920–1923). The school gave him not so much an artistic as a political education, awakened in him a keen interest in reality. Having arrived in Uzbekistan in 1924, Reyh worked in Tashkent newspapers and magazines, making mainly portrait sketches and caricatures on everyday topics. Later, his caricatures were published by the satirical magazine “Mushtum”, and illustrations, headlines, and life sketches for stories and essays were published by the magazine “Sem Dney”. Stylistically, the works of this time are imitative, but the artist's penchant for humorous themes and solutions is already beginning to emerge. Gradually, Reich moves from working in periodicals to illustrating children's books. Local publishing houses publish two books of Uzbek folk tales, illustrated with pen drawings, and the ZIF publishing house publishes the book Kichkintoy (Baby) with watercolor drawings (1927). The characters in his illustrations are funny, often sharply grotesque. But artistic exaggeration of the funny, as a rule, is achieved by exaggerating the physical features of the characters, searching for interesting angles and poses. The illustrations do not yet have genuine fantasy, fabulousness and wide scope for imagination, although their compositional solutions are inventive and funny. Since the thirties, Mikhail Reich has been engaged in propaganda art, drawing political posters, including those aimed at combating religion and the remnants of the past. His 1934 poster in Russian and Uzbek, dedicated to advertising the services of the State Labor Savings Banks. The Reich's social posters on the topic of shock labor, political holidays and strengthening the country's defense capability are well known Author of the posters: "Defense of the Motherland is the sacred duty of every citizen of the USSR /Constitution of the USSR. Article 133/" (1938; together with K. P. Cheprakov), "On September 1, we will put into operation the first stage of the Chirchik chemical plant" (1940), "Comrades, keep your money in the savings bank!" (1946), "Everyone to the harvest!" (1954), "Pulat Radzhapov collected 78 tons of raw cotton in 1953" (1954), "Soviet power opened the way for us to happiness, to knowledge!" (1957), "More cotton for the Motherland!" (1958), "Proud descendant, in the battles of October this law was approved for you!" (1972), "Long live the fraternal Union created by the Great October and the unbreakable friendship of the peoples of the USSR!" (1972). In the late 1930s, the artist's creative biography is filled with new interesting events that more closely and strongly connect him with the life of the republic. Mikhail Reich, at the head of a team of graphic artists, leaves for people's construction sites. The Great Fergana Canal, Chirchikstroy - these are long days of labor among the people, communication with the people, learning about life at its origins. On the way to the Great Fergana Canal, - the artist says, - we had the feeling that we were going to the front, and this impression remained on the canal. It was a labor front. The enthusiasm of the people was so great that it was impossible to remain an indifferent contemplator. Each portrait painted by the artist was a sharp and effective means of increasing labor productivity. Reich worked at Chirchikstroy for almost a year. Here his organizational skills and natural talent as a portrait artist, who could quickly and vividly capture a person's likeness and character, were widely deployed. Eleven portrait galleries of shock workers, including more than 300 sketches, 200 thematic drawings, 40 issues of "Chirchikstroyevsky crocodile", posters for "Satire Windows", panels, drawings for newspapers, design of the canal route - even this dry and far from complete list of the works of the team of artists takes us into the combat atmosphere of their everyday work and determines the significance of their work. The artists received a new supply of life impressions at the construction site, made hundreds of sketches, but they failed to achieve genuine creative generalization in easel works. Their works, including those of M. V. Reich, were of the nature of specific sketches, truthful, often sharp, lifelike, but not deep and not united by an ideological and figurative plot line. But they represented an interesting section of graphics at the Republican Exhibition of Artists of Uzbekistan in 1940. In the first days of the Great Patriotic War, M. Reich created satirical poster sheets on themes exposing fascism. He participated in the 1st exhibition of anti-fascist posters, which took place from July 27 to August 10, 1941 in Tashkent, in the House of the Red Army. He worked as an artist at a large military construction site in the Urals (1942-1945). In the post-war period, Reich continued to work in the genre of political posters, collaborating in "Mushtum"leads a team of artists at the construction of the Chardzhou-Kungrad railway, creates illustrations for children's books, participates in exhibitions with easel works ("At Tyuyamuyun", "Leaflets", "At the Construction Site"). In 1949, M. Reich leaves for Kiev for three years and continues to illustrate children's books there (M. Stelmakh "Harvest", V. Bichko "I Want to Be Small"). A new stage in the artist's work begins there. He is entrusted with illustrating the historical novels "Genghis Khan", "Batu", "Abai". Reich's illustrations attract with the historical accuracy of details, the fidelity of ethnic types, interesting compositional finds, and precisely placed semantic accents in the storyline. In many illustrations of this period, the excessive caricature of the faces and the conventionality of the poses are striking, but in some of them (especially in the illustrations for the novel "Genghis Khan"), the artist's desire for psychological expressiveness and figurative solutions is already felt. We see something new in the development of Mikhail Reich's work in the easel graphics on the themes of the October events in Tashkent (1957). Here we can see the artist's desire to unite the drawings with a single ideological line, one stylistic device, attention to the characteristic character of the type, and the expressiveness of the compositions. Mikhail Reich is an artist-propagandist and agitator, a journalist by talent and creative aspirations, who had an undeniable influence on the subsequent generation of graphic artists of Uzbekistan. He lived a creative life full of bright events. He was friends with Vladimir Favorsky, Evgeny Kibrik, Andrei Goncharov; he was acquainted with Alexei Tolstoy, Konstantin Simonov and Rockwell Kent. The poster art of M. V. Reich is presented in the collections of the Alexandrovsky Museum of History and Local Lore (AIKM), the State Historical Museum (GIM), the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (PGM named after A.S.
