We have owned it for over 3 years now, and are only selling b/c we need the space AND its ready to go to a new owner. We purchased it in the South, where it had been sitting. It was not running, so we spent some of our time in '21-'22 to get running and started to slowly restore it back to running condition. As of today, it starts, runs, drives, and stops. Needs electrical work to be completely street ready (if desired). It was formerly a radio fire truck that was converted to a camper. In 2004, it underwent a major project in Arizona whereby the engine was upgraded to 250SL engine with 2.5 Liter with 7 main bearings instead of 5; It has about 20-30 more horesepower over stock. At that same time, it underwent a nut and bolt restoration for the frame and swiss army bed. That is the way it sits today. Recent Work: In '21 to '23, we restored or repaired the following in order to make this a restored driver: brakes (all wheel cylinders + master cylinder), brake lines, engine, belts, shocks, rear bed, batteries, fuel tanks, fuel lines, fuel sender, fuel pickup tubes, water pump, carb rebuild, new tires, wheels, starter, batteries, & pedal plate. Ideas: This would make for a great doomsday, farm, event marketing, winery, pumpkin patch, strawberry patch, or safari vehicle.
