Description: This week I'm offering a variety of cards from non-sport sets of the Fifties and Sixties. In the Sixties, there was no more wildly successful film franchise than the James Bond series, starring Sean Connery. The Bond movies featured a suave lead and non-stop action, beginning in 1962, with a new movie showing up pretty much every year. In 1965, Philadelphia Gum issued a set of 66 black and white cards summarizing the first three Bond movies (Dr. No, From Russian With Love and Goldfinger). The set was quite successful, so the following year saw the release of a second set made up of 66 sepia-toned cards telling the story of "Thunderball." Both sets remain extremely popular with collections, with the second set slightly tougher to find. Here I have a good starter lot, consisting of 34 cards out of the set of 66, from the second set, issued in 1966. The cards are in generally nice condition, showing some corner wear and a couple with a light crease (see scans for condition). Not bad for cards that are almost sixty years old! This would be a terrific addition to any collection! Shipping will be combined for multiple purchases. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
