1969-71 MONTEGO AM FM STEREO RADIO CYCLONE ORIGINAL FACTORY CORRECT BENDIX RARE

Description: Here we have an extremely rare hard to find late 1969 1970 1971 Mercury Montego AM FM stereo radio that was manufactured by Bendix. This is a unique model in that it has the lettering "MONTEGO" imprinted on the dial. This radio was sometimes installed in 69-71 Cyclones as well since they were based on the Montego chassis. This radio is specific to these models because it has a unique chrome bezel that is designed to protrude through the opening in the dashboard. The FoMoCo engineering number stamped on the side is D0GA-19A241 1FBOO. The radio will also fit 68 and early 69 Montegos and Cyclones however it is not factory correct since it has the “MONTEGO” script on the dial. AM FM radios were quite rare options in the 1960's and early 1970's, especially on less expensive cars like Montegos and Cyclones. Not very many were made due to the very high cost of the option and limited amount of FM stations in non urban areas. Most of the radios that were produced were tossed out years ago or are already installed in cars. Finding a real deal original 1969-71 Montego/Cyclone AM FM Stereo radio today is quite a task. Don't miss this real deal factory AM FM Stereo radio. To clear up any confusion many Ford AM FM radios from the mid 60’s thru late 70’s will fit the opening of your 1969-71 Montego or Cyclone but this is the correct one that would have come from the factory. This style nomenclature on the dial was only used on late 1969-71 models. If you show your car this is the AM FM radio you need to install to be Concours correct.I recently tested it and determined it to be non-functional. It does not receive stations across the AM or FM dial. Since this radio does not appear to have been serviced for quite some time I will have to sell it “as is”. It will need to be looked at by a professional to bring it up to original factory specs or these can also be totally converted to modern day specs and features for the discriminating buyer that wants the original radio look combined with up-to-date sound and options. Overall cosmetic appearance is excellent, clean and all original. It comes complete with a set of inner and outer control knobs in good used condition.
