Description: This tinsel tree was made in the 1960's, and is for the wall, windows, mantels, doors, or whereever you would like to hang it! It is not free standing - the back is flat. It is a plastic tree, covered in shiny green tinsel, with a string of lights that plug into little holes, to shine through the tinsel. The lights work well, and come with an original package of little replacement bulbs. The base is cardboard, covered with lightly flocked brick designed paper. The back is cardboard, which is creased and has tape residue. The box is original and even has it's original cellophane, which has broken. If you want, I have some vintage 1960's Dennison cellophane, and I can send some with the piece if you would like to replace the cellophane. The tree is 17" long and 12" wide. It is called a "Merry Midget", and is part of a series of products that GE had for sale in this era for Christmas. I have lots of other vintage Christmas pieces, so take a peek. Of course, if you want, you can also add little extras to this tree - little elves, little deorations, bows or whatever else takes your fancy. They wouldn't be original to the tree, but would be really really cute!
