Wanting to be valued for their brains as well as their beauty, the three title characters of this American TV series blazed new paths as Charlie's Angels. A crime drama television series airing on ABC from September 22, 1976, to June 24, 1981, the show featured the characters who had recently graduated with full certification from the Los Angeles police academy, only to be assigned duties as a meter maid, office worker, and crossing guard. As the series opened the three girls dubbed "Angels" worked for the Charles Townsend Agency as private investigators. Their boss, Charlie Townsend, who nicknamed them "Angels", was never viewed full-face, although sometimes from the back, mostly in the company of beautiful women. As a former detective, Charlie had made many enemies, therefore to protect the Angels, as well as his own identity, Charlie gave the Angels their assignments via a Western Electric speakerphone and never met them face-to-face. Our plastic thermos accompanies the Charlie's Angels lunchbox. Measuring 6.5" in height with a 3.5" diameter, the thermos is in excellent condition. The lunch carrier, which measures 8" by 7" by 4", shows a little paint loss on the faces of the girls along with minor surface scratches on the exterior. The blue plastic carrying handle is in good working condition. The interior is very clean with the inside lid showing graphics and writing from the Child Safety Campaign of the National Safety Council. The inside also has a very small amount of rust. A real win for the lunch box collector or someone that loves old TV collectibles, buyers may hear faint echoes of Charlie's opening narration as he intones, "Once upon a time, there were three little girls who went to the police academy; and they were each assigned very hazardous duties. But I took them away from all that and now they work for me. My name is Charlie!"
