Description: 1987 Ernst Benkert American (1928-2010) "Does the Subject Matter?" Signed Art on "rag paper" canvas. This original art was personalized for a friend of Earnst's. Earnst Benkert was a founding member of the Anonima artists group in Cleveland, OH. Earnst applied psychology of perception in many of his artworks. His art has been exhibited in numerous museums. I purchased this piece with another Earnst artwork at an auction. The lot also came with a framed stencil which was possibly by Earnst as well. This piece is not framed, but does have paper backing and a paper that was folded around the canvas to protect the edges. Artwork measures approximately 30 - 1/8 inches x 22 - 1/4 inches. There is writing on the back of the artwork. Please see the photo. Condition Issues (see photos):The backing paper and paper around the artwork has wear and light damageStaining/discoloration throughout the paper due to being stored without a frameAll four corners have pin holes There is slight tearing on the edges of the paper due to poor handlingPlease see photos and ask questions to best determine the item type, value, and condition. Thank you.
