Description: I purchased this boat from a friend. He bought it to rebuild the engine and use as a charter boat. He decided to sell it when he found out that the boat can't have a bracket / outboard. The transom and keel don't lend themselves to that arrangement. I understand that a diesel mechanic started it when it was originally purchased. However, you have to understand that you may need a new or rebuilt diesel. The boats are widely used in the great lakes because they are very seaworthy, draws only 2.5' of water, miserly on fuel and can be used even on fairly rough days. I fished on 20' and 26' shamrocks in Lake Ontario.They very much impressed me with their stability.THIS STATEMENT CAME FROM THE INTERNET:THE 20′AND 26′ SHAMROCKS HAVE BEEN COMMISSIONED BY THE UNITED STATES COASTGUARD, NUMEROUS MARINE TOWING AND SALVAGE COMPANIES ALONG WITH COMMERCIAL FISHING AND DIVING CHARTERS. I HATE TO SELL THIS BOAT, BUT I JUST TURNED 80 AND DON'T WANT TO HASSLE WITH A BIG BOAT ANYMORE.AN INTERESTING POINT IS THAT THE BOAT IS SO FUEL EFFICIENT THAT YOU DON'T NEED A DIESEL. IT WAS SOLD INITIALLY WITH A 210HP DIESEL, BUT A GAS ENGINE IS VASTLY LESS EXPENSIVE. IT WAS TESTED WITH A GAS ENGINE AND A DIESEL. THEY BOTH GOT 2.0 - 2.5 MPG. PLEASE RESEARCH THE BOAT AND YOU WILL SEE ITS UNIQUENESS. I NEVER USED THE BOAT, BUT I WAS TOLD IT MAY NEED AN ENGINE OR A REBUILD OF THE CURRENT ENGINE. DON'T BID IF YOU DON'T WANT TO, OR CANT, WORK ON IT. YOU CAN HAVE AN INCREDIBLE BOAT WITH SOME TIME AND MONEY. I ONLY STOOD ON THE BOAT, IN A YARD, FOR 10 MINUTES OR SO. WHAT IS IN THIS AD IS ALL I KNOW ABOUT THE VESSEL. PLEASE--CASH ONLY ON PICKUP. YOU MUST REMOVE IT IMMEDIATELY UPON PURCHASE.
