Description: The film and TV star, Ronald Reagan, got into politics in 1966 when he successfully ran for California Governor. By 1968 he was a presidential hopeful, then got re-elected in 1970. By 1976, he figured he could take on sitting president, Gerald Ford, for the GOP nomination but lost. Then he ran in 1980 and trounced Jimmy Carter, and also Walter Mondale in 1984. Since the Constitution was amended in 1951, (after Franklin Roosevelt had won FOUR terms - which helped kill him at only age 63), so someone can only serve two terms, widely popular Reagan had to quit in 1988. But this single-sided, 17" x 11" paper poster, used at the RNC that year, implied that there was nothing in that Amendment to keep Reagan from becoming Vice-President! So, on the night he was to speak, these were handed out to the delegates and alternates to wave around in their frenzy during his appearance. Therefore, many of these are slightly damaged from hand use but this example has no bends nor wrinkles. It is in nice condition, but please look at our images to judge that for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase. There's slight foxing at top but nothing exceptionally bad. We are members of APIC selling only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. Shipping on this will be $7.50 with tracking, rolled up in a tube. We'll also be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases, which we accomplish via a refund. 8958
