Description: This is a nice example of a 1988 Schwinn Circuit with the rare Shimano Sante´ groupset. This bike was made during Schwinn's heyday and was the third model in their road bike hierarchy, only behind the Paramount and the Prologue. It is considered a 22" by Schwinn and the seat tube measures 560mm from the center of the crank to the top of the tube. The top tube measures 555mm center to center and the stand-over height is 31.5 inches.I purchased this bike from the original owner who received it as a gift for his 47th birthday. It is completely original with the exception of tires/tubes, cables/housing and bar tape. My plan was to convert it into a city/cruiser bike, but I decided that it should remain in it's true race/road bike set up and I have too many similar bikes. The bike has some paint chips from normal use and transport, including two worn spots around the head tube that are probably from the type of handlebar bag that was popular at the time this bike was new. The only issue that I am aware of is that I stupidly stripped the threads in the non-drive side crank arm by using the wrong tool to pull it off when I was cleaning it. I did find a simple way to remove the stripped crank arm on youtube, however: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bhby__GQE-0 (how to: 4 ways to remove a stuck crank arm) It just requires a 3-jaw gear puller that is available for around $20 at auto parts stores or on amazon. When I decided to sell this bike, I took it to my local shop and asked them to do whatever work was necessary. I have attached the work order and receipt that shows the following service items: new brake and derailleur cables and housing, straightened the hanger, adjusted the derailleur limits, centered the brake calipers, adjusted the rear hub and the headset. One tube was also replaced and the handlebars were rewrapped with new tape. I also switched out the old, mis-matched tires that came on the bike with a pair of used Continental GP 5000s. These tires still have visible wear dots and will be good for a few hundred more miles. This bike is available for pickup, but if you need it shipped, I will have it professionally packed at my bike shop.
