Description: Game issued bat of former St Louis Cardinals and LA Dodgers relief pitcher, Todd Worrell. This Louisville Slugger model C243 exhibits early ‘90s labeling and is uncracked. There is a slight amount of deadwood grain separation on the back of the barrel. The knob of the bat has the model number written in black marker and Todd’s uniform number 38 can be seen but is scribbled over. There are plenty of ball marks on the barrel, assumed to be batting practice hits. Todd was a member the STL Cardinals in 1991 & 1992 before moving on to the Dodgers so the date of bat use can be narrowed to those seasons. Todd was recovering from injury during the ‘91 season but pitched in 67 games in ‘92 as the setup guy behind closer Lee Smith. He did not appear as a hitter in any games during the ‘92 season. I had Todd sign this bat for me during a STL area card show in March of 1999. The photo I took will be included to the purchaser. Todd was an excellent pitcher, amassing 256 career saves in an 11 yr MLB career. I have enjoyed owning the his bat as part of my collection and now it’s time to allow another fan to be the caretaker. The shipping charge may be overestimated by eBay. I will refund any overpayment above actual shipping costs.
