Description: This 90s era of Gibson is one of the few times you could get a Les Paul Special with a real ABR-1 bridge. Great option if you like your guitars intonated and the wired ABR-1 has posts drilled directly into the body. I upgraded the often-disliked p100 stacked p90 pickups to real Gibson p90s. I also swapped out the plastic jack plate (which has cracking and is included) for a nickel one that has the same oxidized patina as the rest of the hardware. Includes a hardshell case from the same maker of Gibson cases of the era, TKL Canada. Very comfortable C-shaped neck that measures .82" at the first fret and .9" at the 12th. The Gibson p90s measure at about 8.1k each and I also switched the .022 caps to 50s style wiring in order to help retain highs when rolling down the volume. The wiring harness is otherwise original except I believe this would've had a grounding plate (not included). Everything has been properly grounded, including the original shielded wire going to a replaced 3-way toggle switch. Everything else is original. The guitar is clean and polished but has a good amount of wear to the finish. This includes dings to the top/sides/back, clear coat yellowing and checking to the binding and headstock face, and also some dings/worming to the back. The top also has polish swirls and pick scraping but the plastics are in great shape. There's a ding to the back of the neck (pictured) but I don't notice it while playing. The frets have some shallow divoting mostly in the lower frets. The guitar plays great and it sets up well with medium-low action. The truss rod turns smoothly both ways and it currently has a bit of relief with regular 10's. The nut slots are proper height and the nut shouldn't need replacing. The setup was pretty easy to dial in and intonate thanks to the sturdy old hardware. The guitar weighs in at 8.9 lbs. The case is in great condition and has one quarter-size indendation to the tolex on the top. No bad odors to the guitar or case. This is a great playing guitar and the p90s are a vast improvement to the mellow original p100s almost all Gibson USA Specials got in the 90s.
