With only 97,000 actual kilometers (60,000 miles) this Kouki (late model) R33 GT-R is in exceptional condition featuring clean original BN6 Deep Marine Blue paint on all factory panels paired with a plethora of aero parts from the likes of Nismo, Garage Saures, and Top Secret. It is worth noting that this car is 1 of only 70 kouki R33 GT-Rs in Deep Marine Blue. On the interior you will find all of the factory components in excellent condition wearing their red accents exclusive to the Kouki, in addition to the factory interior a handful of period correct parts have been added from the brands of Kansei service, Greddy, and HKS. As a complete unit this R33 GT-R is one of the best condition examples we have had the luxury to list for purchase. COMBUSTION An RB26 engine paired with a Trust T88-34D turbo was a staple in the world of GT-R tuning and arguably still is. The T88-34D was released by Trust in the early 90s and was the OG big turbo to run, with its ability to produce over 800hp it became the turbo of choice for many GT-R tuners. To aid in spooling the large T88 turbine this RB has had extensive internal processing including more aggressive Tomei camshafts, a port & polish on intake and exhaust side, other upgraded valve train components, pistons, rods, and a counterbalanced crankshaft. In addition to internal work a multitude of other supporting modifications have been added including a large volume Greddy intake plenum, a trust intercooler, Greddy charge piping, and an upgraded fuel system. If you’re going to make more power you’re going to generate more heat, to keep everything cool a Sard aluminum radiator and a Trust 13 row oil cooler have been fitted. Controlling the electronic side of things is an HKS F-CON V-pro Ecu and an HKS EVC III boost controller allowing for a low boost setting of 1.3 bar for normal fuel and 2.0 bar for race fuel, making an estimated 650hp at 1.3 bar and 800hp at 2.0 bar while reaching a peak rpm of 9000. PUTTING THE POWER DOWN The stock 5-speed transmission in the R32 and R33 is not known for being the strongest especially when wanting to transfer 800hp to the asphalt. Fitted in place of the 5-speed is a 6-speed H-pattern dogbox from GREX, this transmission not only can hold the power but with it utilizing dog rings rather than traditional synchronizers allows the driver to change gears much quicker by not requiring the use of the clutch and only requiring the driver to lift off the throttle. In Addition to the dogbox both front and rear differentials have been upgraded with LSDs with stronger lockup. When trying to transfer the power the engine produces into forward motion a proper suspension set up is vital, to aid in this a set of Nismo adjustable coilovers have been fitted along with adjustable pillow ball front tension rods, adjustable rear upper control arms for camber, and Nismo reinforced rear lower control arms. Just as import as it is accelerate quickly it is equally important to slow down quickly, to help with this a set of GREX Alcon 4 pot calipers have been fitted to the front along with Project Mu 2-piece floating rotors, in the rear you’ll find project Mu slotted rotors with the stock calipers. Finished in BN6 Deep Marine Blue the exterior of this GT-R is similar to the rest of the vehicle in the fact that it is in very original condition with the addition of period correct mods. In terms of originality all of the factory panels retain their factory applied paint. Although the parts added to the exterior of this GT-R are pretty the majority of them are functional as well, to aid in cooling Nismo N1 bumper ducts have been added to the front along with a Topsecrect carbon fiber vented hood. To help with aerodynamics a R34 GT-R carbon fiber rear diffuser was fitted along with a Garage Saures drag wing, Nismo side skirts, and a Nismo rear bumper. In order to fit a larger tire and add a little more flare a set of 18×11 3-piece Nismo LMGT3 wheels with polished lips have been fitted and are wrapped in 275/35r18 Michelin pilot sport 4s. It is never enough to look good on just the outside, it’s what’s underneath that matters, and the underside and chassis of this GT-R are in great condition exhibiting no signs of rust in the common areas that are the rear quarters, front strut towers or rockers. THE DRIVER SEAT From the driver seat this GT-R is still very much a street car, be it a very fast street car, but a streetcar nonetheless. Retaining its full factory Kouki interior as well as having A/C, power steering, and ABS it maintains the feel of a street car with the exception of the transmission which does require more skill to drive than the stock 5 speed but is by no means unstreetable. A few of the extra parts added that are visible in the interior include a Kansei Service 4-point roll bar, an Autometer Sport-comp Monster tachometer, a pair of OG Greddy black face gauges, an HKS EVC III boost boost controller, and a HKS A/F-knock amp wide band gauge. The interior isn’t just in good condition for a 27 year old car but it is in great condition for any car. During the drivetrain out refresh the entirety of the engine bay was stripped down and sprayed in the same Bayside Blue to match the rest of the vehicle. Engine & DrivetrainIn order to produce the 501whp this RB26 makes on 93 octane fuel, a plethora of parts have been used to both strengthen and increase the efficiency of the engine.These parts include: 88mm Tomei pistons bumping the displacement to 2.7L, Tomei I-beam rods, Tomei +1mm oversized racing valves, Tomei valve springs and retainers, GSC Power Division S2 camshafts The block also been bored over to accommodate the 88mm pistons and has been half concrete filled - which is a long standing practice done to increase block rigidity (this technique is commonplace in the drag racing world as well as a method of strengthening used by Matchless Crowd Racing (MCR) who are one of the OGs of GT-R tuning). The parts used externally to produce this power include: Trust/Greddy T51Z turbines, Trust/Greddy intercooler with piping, Q45 single throttle body conversion, Sard 800cc injectors, equal length front pipe, HKS titanium exhaust, R35 MAF conversion, all being controlled by an APEXi Power FC. Parts included in the full refresh are : ACL race H main bearings, ACL race H rod bearings, ARP 2000 headstud kit, N1 oil pump with PRP gears, new valve guides, Carrillo wrist pin bushings, Tomei valve springs and retainers, Tomei Oversized racing valves, Tomei solid lifters, Tomei MLS 88×1.5mm headgasket, refinished crankshaft, piston rings, and all engine gaskets replaced. In addition to the parts some machine processing was performed including honing the cylinder walls for ring pattern, a main alignment hone, decking the block, resurfacing the head and a competition valve job. Modifications to the drivetrain include a new Spec stage 3 clutch and pressure plate, pushtype conversion, and ATS carbon plate LSD front and rear. Exterior The looks of this R33 GT-R are those of an early 2000s Tokyo auto salon car that you might see running the Wangan after the show. Refinished in Bayside Blue the condition of the exterior is very good showing only minor imperfections indicative of normal use. Exterior modifications include Top Secret front lip, side skirts, and rear spats, N1 bonnet lip, bumper ducts, rear glass with no wiper, a carbon fiber GT wing, clear side markers and foglights, and the holy grail of lighting for an R33 - the Series III Xenon projector headlights. Chassis & FootworkAs a result of the suspension and chassis tuning this specific R33 feels extremely tight, very nimble, and is quick to respond to driver inputs with a great deal of precision. The parts responsible for this include APEXi N1 evolution coilovers, reinforced rear subframe, solid subframe bushings, solid diff bushings, cusco rear camber arms, and adjustable front tension rods. To aid in deceleration a full GREX special edition chrome big brake kit has been fitted including 6-pot front calipers, 4-pot rear calipers, and two floating rotors at all four corners. The GREX BBK is paired with an Autoselect brake master cylinder in order to properly eliminate ABS. For wheels a set of Volk racing LE37Ks have been fitted in a side of 18×9.5in. The condition of the chassis is very good exhibiting no signs of major corrosion or previous accidents InteriorThe same cleanliness continues into the interior, maintaining all of the interior components, a functioning radio with backup camera and proximity sensors, and fully functioning climate control. A small flaw found in the interior is a grouping of small holes in the dashboard where gauges were previously located. Providing the bolstering to hold both the driver and passenger in place are a pair of limited release GReddy x Bride Euroster II reclinable seats paired with factory seat belts and the ability to fit 4 point harness via a cross bar with mounting points behind the seats.
