Description: 19th or 18th? Century Chinese Carved Wood Polychrome Gold Gilt Red Deity Statue. From a wonderful Maine estate/mansion in Portland, Maine. Statue appears very early, lots of wear to original paint and wood. See all photos please! We are not sure of age but again appears very old. Some of the paint loss shows exposed wood. Paint colors are black, red, some gold gilt, mostly on his front abdomen area. There is a small hole in each hand that does not go all the way through his hands- he may have been holding something at one time- we are not sure! Statue measures about 7 1/2” high and the base is about 3 1/8” x 2 1/2” wide.
