Description: Two computer punch cards from the 1960s-1970s. One un-punched, other punched. These have the M.I.T. logo "mens et manus," Latin for "mind and hands" depicting a scholar with a book and a craftsman at the anvil. The cards say "Information Processing Center" which, in the day, referred to Building 39 where you could manually and laboriously punch your cards and then hand in your card deck to the dispatcher. But wait, there's more! I'll include two dispatch cards (I don't know what else to call them). You'd get a card when submitting your deck to the dispatcher. This was punched with your job number and you later submit it at the pickup counter to retrieve the output. The other card is a job report indicating if there was a problem running your card deck. I'll also include a sample of 5 contiguous fan-folded pages of the 11" x 17" output. Each page also has the M.I.T. mens et manus logo. The light blue logo might be hard to see in the photo. I will ship these via USPS package with tracking number provided. I realize the shipping charge seems outrageous for such light-weight items but that's the going rate to get a tracking number for eBay items of this type. I will package these in a box rather than a plain envelope which might get folded, spindled, or mutlilated :). I will "roll" the 11x17 output pages rather than folding and creasing the pages. Thank you for looking. .
