Description: Maker and age: On the reverse of these 2 classically elegant coupe soup bowls is the red decorator's backstamp number 9 of Elite Works, also known as Bawo & Dotter, one of the great Limoges firms at the turn of the last century. Age: According to the third edition of the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston, this mark was in use between 1900 and 1914. A green "Limoges France" white ware mark also appears. Design: The bowls feature a thin gold band around a pure white center; it's the pattern that replacements.com calls BWD49. Its classic elegance would complement many similar patterns by T&V and other high quality makers. Condition: Both bowls are in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration, repairs, crazing or wear. Size: They are 7 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches tall. Together they weigh 1 pound 2 ounces. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
