Description: This listing is for two charming antique flower vases. They are exquisitely crafted with 3 reticulated panels with multi colored flower design that go around the vases top and bottom base. They measure approx. 7 1/2" tall x 2 3/4" across the top x 2 7/8" across the base. Both of these porcelain flower vases are marked Germany with the mark of both the creator (Max Roesler) and the painter (Maler Behrmann). These early marking on the base indicates that the two pieces were made around the end of the 1890's or beginning of the 1900"s. The company Max Roesler was registered on July 24, 1894. These markings are the RMR over the rose inside a shield. The idea for the rose came from his last name. The one vase has a hair line crack (see last photo) and both have mild grazing. No other chips, nicks, or repairs. These items are pre owned but in overall, good condition. Some slight age wear to the flowers on the vases. See photos for details.History:Max Roesler was born in 1840 in Regensburg. He studied chemistry in Dresden but finally he graduated in Munich. Max gained experience working for a chemical plant in Blasewitz and in 1864 became a chemist, merchant and technical director at a chemical plant in Elbogen. The change came in 1873 when he became a technical director at the Franz Anton Mehlem stoneware factory in Bonn. Finally in 1893 he and his family moved to Rodach near Coburg. Max Roesler founded in Coburg his own earthenware factory in 1894.In 1910, after death of Roesler's son, the firm was transformed into a public limited company Max Roesler Feinsteingutfabrik AG. After WWI Roesler sold his shares to Dresdner Bankhaus Gebrüder Arnhold. Max Roesler died in 1922.
