Aronson invented the “safety match” in 1897, and the first mechanical cigarette lighter in 1910. But throughout the 1920s and 1930s, The Ronson Art Metal Works was one of the most prolific and creative of all art metal bookend producers. In 1915, he copyrighted his first pair of bookends, and by 1936 over 150 copyrighted bookends, (available in 16 different finishes), appeared in his company catalog" > Age- 1922> Artist- Ronson (difficult to read but based on research I believe it reads "Made In USA" "L.V.A. ©1922" but it took some eye straining and turning at different angles )> Subject- Priest/Monk in Library with Globe> Bronze cast metal spelter> Size- Each is approximately 5 1/8" Tall x 4 9/16" Wide x 2 5/16" Deep> Weight- Each is approximately 2 lbs 9 oz (Total 5 lbs 2 oz.)> Condition- Pre-Owned Used; Wonderfully cared for with better than expected light marks and patina for age (99+ years) and use (See Photos); No damage or repairs but missing felt on bottom (Can easily be replaced; Could use a nice detail cleaning Shipping- All orders will be shipped M-F via USPS or UPS with Delivery Confirmation (USA orders only) within 3-5 business days (if not sooner) of receiving payment.
