This listing is for 20 red / reddish-brown lava rocks, ranging from roughly 2½"-3½" on their longest axis. Spokesmodel Woody says that you'll find some interesting shapes and features in this listing: they illustrate different types of pockmarking along their surfaces and a few of them could be used as small lava pillars or mountains in the right setting. Those pockmarks are scoria's most recognizable feature. When they were expelled from volcanoes that were active here over a half million years ago, hot gases were captured within the molten lava and trapped as it cooled, leaving thousands of tiny "pores" within the rock itself. They would be ideal for the following uses: • In aquariums. Set them out a bit from a corner to create a safe space for smaller fish, or combine them with other rocks to create an underground scene. Scoria lava rocks are extremely lightweight and reduce the risk of damaging your tanks. They offer additional benefits ensuring the health of your aquarium, too.
