Description: This $5 Face Value Fine Silver Coin was struck in 2005 to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Victory by the Allies in World War II. Here it is, already 10 years later and we are celebrating the 70th Anniversary! The Royal Canadian Mint refers to the finish on this coin as being a "Specimen Finish," but I think it would be fair to also call it a modified reverse proof finish. The obverse features mirror-finished portraits of a WWII soldier, an airman and a sailor against an almost frosty "V" for Victory and a Canadian Maple Leaf all against a background that is almost an antiqued finish. The coin is struck from 99.99% fine silver, weight of 31.39 grams with a $5 CDN face value. A very nice coin! You will receive the coin in its original Royal Canadian Mint packaging, which consists of an outer black card box with a sticker showing what is inside, a hinged plastic holder which contains a black holder and the coin itself. The original Certificate of Authenticity is also enclosed (behind the black plastic piece). Large Canadian dealers list this coin for $59.00 US, but it is yours for our lower price! The photographs show the actual item you will receive.
