It's truly a thank you gift.✓ One-category shopI’m not selling a mess of random various thrift items that I know nothing about. At Guardianofthefragrances; you are shopping at a niche market that specializes solely on discontinued perfumery formulations. ‘One category shops’ like mine provide customers with a unique shopping experience that is backed with knowledge & experience within that category as well as shows I have a deep passion in what I am selling. Buying from fine-tuned one category shops like mine makes all the difference in a rewarding shopping experience. That seller who has listed some sneakers, baseball cards, hoodies, & that cologne you want - he may know its authentic & well preserved, OR he may not. ✓ Counterfeit Investigation processWith over a decade of professional Revenue Protection expertise investigating fraud & theft for my state of WI utility provider; all vintage fragrances in my shop are expertly ran through a process of deep research which involves but is not limited to; batch runs, bottle dating, differentiating formula differences, production quirk studies, bottle & cap weighing, taking atomizer off to investigate inner hardware, fragrance strength & quality testing - how long it lasts on skin and the quality of that experience, ect. Anything that falls into my hands that doesn't pass this process never reaches my shop.✓ Quality appraisal processI am college board certified in the state of WI in Sales & Design with over 20+ years of professional practice in appraising personal property & merchandise. At guardianofthefragrances; rest assured I am expertly skilled in determining whether your vintage formula has been well preserved by previous handlers. I find the counterfeit investigation process & quality appraisal the most 2 important things in my shop to gain customer trust & I am on a mission to not let you down.✓ Mutual perfumery hobbyist & collectorMost importantly, I myself am a vintage fragrance hobbyist & collector. In fact, many listings come from my own personal collection after years of collecting back-up bottles as a hobby. As a hobbyist myself, I know exactly what my shoppers are looking for & what is sorely lacking in this sector. Studying & shopping for rare fragrances for my own collection has taught me the majority of the population are NOT experts in fragrances. Its a language many don't speak like ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. In fact; the fragrance industry is the only billion dollar industry where the customer knows the least about what they are buying. Just that it 'smells good'. You even go on a forum discussion with hobbyist's & there's more questions than answers. This phenomenon is truly astonishing to me - as I am a personality type that demands answers. At guardianofthefragrances - I have those answers for you. It’s a passion of mine to go above and beyond the ‘indifferent’ lazy fragrance knowledge on vlogger videos & forums to give you real common-sense truths that Designer houses & retails hold back from us. In fact it was poor aloof information provided to the public about fragrances that gave me the drive to launch my business in the first place. Why should you spend SO much on a fragrance?(I know you are asking yourself this if you are new to all this). ✅UNLOCKS STORED MEMORIES IN THE BRAINS HIPPOCAMPUSFragrances have an olfactory fingerprint. The brain is so intelligently designed - that it stores a fragrance DNA's composition precisely to the very last ingredient used at that time. Try to smell a modern formula and see what happens - it's almost as if your brain gets confused, offended, and low key upset. Only that special formula composed 10-20-30-40 years ago is the key to unlock vivid feelings of nostalgia. ✅BETTER QUALITY, INGREDIENTS, PERFORMANCE, & ARTISTRYMade in times prior to cancel culture regulations, production politics, corporate greed, & making man made chemicals for profit; you get the authentic formula(s) the perfumery artist(s) intended from that time resulting in more naturals, less synthetic/cheap aroma chemical alternatives, richer compositions, bolder presence, more layers/less linear, and made in times where smoking was indoors- you get NUCLEAR performance.✅SMELL BETTER AND OR HIGHER QUALITY THEN OTHER MEN AROUND YOU.In a mass society unaware of vintage fragrances - you will absolutely without a doubt outshine whatever they are wearing. Gain respect, stand out, be the most attractive smelling in the room. In general this is what makes the male gender so enthralled with colognes but vintage amplifies this to the next level. Stop endless YouTube searches seeing if something modern performs - just buy vintage.✅INVEST MORE IN VINTAGE TO SPEND LESS OVER TIME ON MODERNVintage fragrances are stronger and need less sprays due to concentration; 72% vol of alcohol (28% oils) in 1995 vs. 88% vol of alcohol (12% oils) in 2023. It's not a coincidence they are removing vol %'s on colognes nowadays - they don't want us to know how weakened they are. Many collectors go niche and get into strange off-putting DNAs not realizing they can simply go designer vintage. Beautiful mass pleasing DNA's in the best quality and strength possible. The best way to go forward in perfumery is to go backwards. If you buy a vintage- You will realize a bottle that would have lasted you a year is now lasting you over 2+ years. Think about it- you are going from essentially a modern day 'body spray' (Modern edt) to a powerful parfum strength niche like juice. Once you go vintage it's illogical to go back.✅VINTAGE FRAGRANCES NEVER LOSE THEIR VALUE & *INCREASE* OVER TIME.Because of the mass, devoted, & awakening population of the vintage fragrance community; vintage fragrances are a collectible commodity matching similar value in precious paintings, antiques, jewelry, gemstones, diamonds, and gold! Unlike most things you 'drive' off the lot; this fragrance will likely be MORE in 2-5-10-15 years. This is my favorite part about being a collector; my purchase investments lack buyers remorse on as I am buying an investment for the future/ and or discreet savings to liquidate as needed. It's as easy to trade fragrances for cash as it is to liquidate your cash for gold.✅OVERALL BENEFITS OF INVESTING IN VINTAGE PERFUMERY AND AVOIDING MODERN FORMULAS✓ Confidence booster✓ Smell unlike anyone else & one of a kind✓ Vividly triggers locked memories✓ Spiritual enhancements✓ Concentrated Aromatherapy✓ Makes you more attractive✓ Greater impressions✓ Hidden equity – the modern ‘bars of gold’✓ Describe your personality better✓ Impress other people more✓ Positive moods further enhanced✓ Supporting the artistry and original vision of the DNA✓ Better connection to nature experiencing naturals (Reformulation talk...) Unfortunately, In a modern era's effort to make the small allergen pool of the population safe for the bigger masses (essentially a 'Safe than sorry' approach for everyone);Harsh fragrance regulations came into effect within the last 20 years in the EU (United Nations) where nearly all fragrances are still composed. The SCCS (Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety), IFRA (International Fragrance Association) & the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) banded together to axe many precious naturals, and unique aroma chemicals in perfumery that have irritants to a small pool of the population. To this day every year it seems another ingredient is banned as these chemical giants are auditing Chemistry materials on what seems like an unnecessary 'Woke movement' cancel parade. To play nice and to still get credibility for selling 'Safe' fragrances; all Designer perfumery houses have played with these giants to get full EU support of their product(s). Between 2010-2022;The EU has now banned over 2,000 chemicals in the body, skin, hair, & fragrance industry. This massive chemical ban in body products is more than any other world region in history! In comparison, the United States has banned only 17 ingredients from body products made in the USA.Unfortunately for fragrance enthusiasts, a VERY small percentage of designers make their fragrances in America.By 2030; the EEB (European Environmental Bureau) anticipates over 5,000-7,000 ingredients to be banned in total. Rules, reformulations, synthetic ingredients, cost-cutting, & keeping up with modern scent trends have altered, & reduced the performance of many popular favorites from the past. This is not a theory or paranoia, this is becoming more evident & informative in the fragrance community since the rise of fragrance communities and fragrance Vloggers. Since this rise; vintage formulas are hunted and highly sought after by hobby-ists. Many are so used to newer compositions they have no idea what they are missing.vintage EDT formulas are well known to perform more like intense concentrated essential oil strength NICHE EDP's.Newer formulations of the modern age are said to perform like a end body spray with average performance but no character development. DET Vs. DPG:A chemist in Germany did a gas chromatogram composition breakdown on a vintage & modern day version. It was found that companies used to use a solvent Diethyl Phthalate (DET) on vintage versions which was known to have a stronger bonding fixative effect on the skin. Modern day fragrances are replaced with Dipropylene Glycol (DPG).DPG is commonly used in lightly fragrance'd shampoos and DET is in home candles. Candle companies don't use DPG as the fragrance would immediately leave the base. Makes you think. The death of Oakmoss:By far one of the most controversial and damaging IFRA regulations was the ban/limitations in natural Oakmoss. This popular ingredient is in near every legendary cologne; Davidoff Cool Water (Also reformulated), Aqua Di Gio (Also reformulated) Versace Eros (Also reformulated). Many are filled with weaker synthetics. Since Oakmoss rests in the base and has fixative effects fragrances also don't perform as well without it. 2022 Lilial ban:And if you thought your top / mid notes were safe. You're wrong. In 2021 The Scientific committee on consumer safety (SCCS) & the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) banned the note of lilial due to its reaction to sensitive skin (That's it?). They simply stated "It can sometimes act as an allergen." SOMETIMES? Lilial was a common note in modern perfumery. Lilial being a synthetic aromatic soapy aldehyde; it gave the self titled signature Versace Pour Homme it's sweet yet refreshing intense floral green odor.I don't understand this obsession with making sure the skin doesn't react to materials. Practically every face mask on the market 'Reacts' to your skin and in the long run - improves it's appearance. Doesn't skin strength train like muscles do? Fragrance shelf life scam:Reformulations are one thing, it's something that just can't be avoided. One of the biggest gaslighting scams on the otherhand that can easily be avoided is the myth fragrances naturally 'Expire/go bad' due to time alone.Fragrances are not your local produce guys, they are a balanced chemist composition of naturals and fragrant chemical aromas full of preservatives. If that alone wasn't enough; that recipe is then preserved in a percentage average of 80% ALCOHOL. resulting in 'maybe' 10% natural ingredients to think 10% natural ingredients are up against and a threat against 90% chemical aromas, preservatives, and alcohol is a HUGE stretch. Alcohol based fragrances should be compared to 50-100 year old bottles of preserved and cherished wine. Like wine, fragrances in fact get better with age from the process of maceration; when naturals soak in chemicals for extended periods of time making the juice richer and full of character. Fragrances are not fresh hand made cosmetics with no preservatives - quite the opposite. Fragrances were even recovered from the 1912 Titanic wreck with no sign of expiring.A perfumer perished in the wreck resulting in a sachet left behind on the BOTTOM of the ocean for over 100 years. This sachet contained mini corked bottles of fragrant oils and perfumery. In an artifact examination room upon recovery, amongst the death, muck, tragedy, and solemn sorrow of decomposing materials the perfumery was opened up and by surprise brought the room to LIFE again, aromas of beautiful fruits, florals, resins, and woods sourced from so long ago. The experience was so powerful to the scientist- it made a grown man cry. Fragrances can be mishandled, left in sunlight, heat, and other neglectful extremes...but most certainly don't go bad from just the passing of time.I guess any myth works for these fragrance industries that want you coming in to buy their 'fresh' bottles. The modern day scent:I say all that to say; modern day fragrances as a whole - are complete and utter trash...whether that be a brand new composed scent or a reformulation of a classic. The modern recipe:Fake citrusy candy-like tops to lock you in, aromatic-mids to give you masculinity and bare minimal classic nostalgia, then a base gob-smacked with scratchy ambroxan / synthetic molecules completed with nauseating sweetness to ultimately gaslight you so don't notice how 'fake' the entire composition smells. It's truly depressing what they release nowadays. You might as well wear your household cleaner. fortunately, In every generation......A guardian is born.A guardian to make the world a better place. Now, our memories are under siege. You may wonder..."What is happening to my cologne, and why?""Is it all in my head?"...It's not. Designer brands are gaslighting you.Retail associates are lying to you. They don't want you to know about me...the Guardian of the Fragrances.Vintage formulas taking asylum and preserved under my guardianship. The awakening is growing, don't be left out.Be a part of the fragrance safehouse and house a bottled refugee today. (All about ARMANI CODE) Wardrobe category is!;Sexy financier at the annual black tie event prepared for seduction. The relevancy of this 20 year old fragrance continues in the fragrance community to this day. Still No designer fragrance on the shelves today compares to the king of oriental spice from the house of Armani. Around 2002 after Armani Mania launched, Giorgio Armani decided that the next fragrance for men would carry oriental and spicy notes to introduce into the male market under the brand. In 2004, Armani Code launched and was in fact the very FIRST men's oriental fragrance from the Armani house.Armani, being a go to menswear designer brand for tuxedos; Armani code perfumers were inspired to bring to their perfumery line that chicness melded with a laid back personality and sensuality. An enigma of notes. The fragrance was so praised by the world upon launch,It was awarded a Fragrance of the year in the Men's Luxe category only 2 years after release. Despite all the COUNTLESS flankers of code- The original vintage version still has its own vibe. Zippy lemon, fresh aromatic green olives, spicy tingly anise, with a modest sweet tonka punch.LEGENDARY! SEXY! SO ADDICTING! Modern formulas destroyed the essence of the OG- the modern is much fresher, not dark, and for some odd reason they turned it more 'blue' with a sour citrus kick, and vanilla soaked ambery base. Vintage is nothing like this - First formula code was a muddy greenish-grey black scent - like a man in a leather jacket in a spice shop - not even close to a 'blue scent'. Armani Code's note composition is nostalgic to this day.Something about the mix of Lemons, greens, spice, and sweetness- total addictive qualityLavender, olive blossom, anise, tonka BOMB. Perfumer:Antoine Lie Scent style:Fresh spicy sensual Mood/Season/Time/Occasion: Professional/sensual fall winter spring fancy elegant date scent Awards:🏆2006 Men's Fragrance of the year - Prestige Category Awards issued by the FiFi Awards in New York City - The Oscars of the fragrance industry.(sponsored by The Fragrance Foundation). Note breakdown:Top: Lemon, bergamotMid: Star anise, olive blossom, guaiac wood/ (palo santo)Base: Leather, tonka bean, tobacco *Guardian nose critique: This 00's formula is breathtaking, and the 1st formula is criminally underrated. One of the most alluring male colognes ever created. Uplifting invigorating lemon in the top commands the attention then quickly settles into a gorgeous form of seduction. Lemon, pepper, green olives, powdery tonka, even a somewhat gasoline note like in Fahrenheit. Not very anise heavy as it doesn't smell like licorice. It's giving me spring 'night lounge' scent - something between dates & clubbing. Too sexy for a date - and too modest for a club. Has a pinch of that bad boy vibe. What makes this formula so polarizing is that GREEN olive nuance mingled into the pepper and tonka. I have never encountered such an alluring scent in a green scent category. DARK green. I'm highly crucial of scents - especially if they are redundant but this one blows me away and I have yet to own anything that smells quite like this in the hundreds of bottles in my collection. Nothing like more modern bottles. How come no one talks about this!?!?Armani Code edt F1 falls into the category of the most important cologne for the single male species. LOL.10'S 10'S 10'S across the board.Bravo Armani!*(I've been told I have a talented nose, artistic vision, critical mind, & articulate verbal delivery. I have included this personal critique in the factual section due to the confidence in my skills to verbalize the olfactory world. Before I present an argument - I value structure & evidence - resulting in a gold standard of perfumery journalism. Please note: the formula, your personal experiences, memory, and taste may contradict my critique). (SPECIFIC LISTING DETAILS - WHAT YOU ARE BUYING) Vintage fragrances are well known to give errors on batch code sites to place the year. Vintage batch codes are either missing, will commonly not work on batch check websites, OR repeat every 10 years and mislabel the timeline. As a researcher, these quirks are what drew me to research bottles by means bottle features, distributer history, zip codes, juice color, and overall label information. As far as Armani code bottles are concerned;Batch codes accurately date the bottle. Along with bottle details such as the cap, the batch code setup, and of course the scent confirms its timeline. This particular juice listed was made in 2007, released shortly several years after its 2004 debut The earliest 4 years of U batches in the code line are well known to have contained the original DNA- second formulations debut in 2008 with a new batch system & a different batch code in the ingredients. I have boxes from the 2007 batch codes in my personal collection and they have identical ingredients and same 'B8931/2' code as the Armani code bottles. This is the first formulation. Send me an email if you have more questions about my dating process. Sensitive side note; The original name of the fragrance changed a year after launch. (Research this event independently as I cannot speak on fragrance history apparently per eBay). They only changed the name a year after launch but kept the formula for another 4 years. Tested on my wrist for testing purposes.Incredible beastly bomb! Smells & performs like it should. That spicy olive blossom base just sits on you & doesn't quit. So much more complex than the modern day stuff. I have my own stash of bottles too- this might possibly be the sexiest fragrance I wear. This 17 year old bottle is in excellent condition.Font on the front of the bottle is fading per its 2 decade age - perfectly normal for code bottles. 100% authentic. 50 ml. bottle is 60% full with 30 ml. of juice remaining.Cap is a little scuffed - otherwise excellent. Glass is mint- no cracks, chips, ect. Please note;-This is a 50 ml. bottle that is 60% full with 30 ml. remaining.Bottle in excellent condition minus some cap scuffs and font fading. No original packaging nor cellophane included in listing - will ship like a professional mover to prevent damage and leakage. Please be aware of these quirks prior to purchase. Cap snaps on tight, working sprayer, no leakage.Well preserved regardless for being almost 2 decades old. Looks as if it just left the factory in 2007 so it's a time capsule.Great collectors piece! Iconic grail 2007 juice - check.Free shipping - check.Bonus gift on top of it - check. Can't go wrong with this one! These just keep getting more rare.Decent price for a collector to try this iconic original well preserved formulation!Concentrated juice means less sprays- this 30 ml. will last you awhile if used on special occasions. This historic vintage formula is a long-lasting investment in your personal grooming arsenal, ensuring that you'll always be prepared to make a lasting impression. About me: My name is Nathan, I'm a mid-western Wisconsinite living in downtown Milwaukee. In the Midwest comes all four seasons in their highest concentrations; from Arctic temps in to heat-waves. These extremes have helped me properly test & explore a range of fragrance DNA's. I have been a 'frag-head' my entire life; from 'Mr. Sketch' 12- pack scented markers as a child, Bath & Body products in my teens, & discovering LUSH handmade body products in my 20's. Now in my 30's; I Collect fragrance formulas from all houses & timelines to master my olfactive memory. I have a particular passion for vintage designer fragrances due to their ability to remember our past. They are time capsules; from societal pop culture to the memories of our relatives; vintage designer fragrances are the closest humanity has came to immortality. Designer are not only more mass pleasing in general. In a world so based in science- can't think of anything more magical. Along with this touch of magic- comes what I like to call 'pseudo-science' perfumery; the opposite of magic and time travel. There is nothing more disheartening than when our magic potions get distorted and reformulated with cheap alternatives & synthetics. This distorts our scent memory and leaves us confused and questioning our memories. It's fascinating to me how the IFRA (International fragrance association) is allowed to influence fragrance houses to alter their compositions yet governments & administrations allow tobacco products and junk food to be sold to the public and slowly kill us. What is even more shocking; these fragrance houses and companies not only 'obeying' these IFRA recommendations, but they are training their retail sales floors & Customer service phone reps to downright lie about such changes and misinform the public and gaslight you. This is UNACEPTABLE! As a private investigator in Revenue Protection for over 10 years; I efficiently investigate/ validate facts, debunk fraud and confirm authenticity of the incoming product. I use this while searching and validating vintage fragrances! These scattered lost remains are a calling to me- something to rescue, revive, and guard which is where I self discovered the 'Fragrance Guardian' name. Perfumers are artists and their compositions are works of art in their true original forms. I feel its my legacy to not only inform the fragrance community about such formulations; but keep them alive and well by providing them to the retail market & sell them to appreciative homes. I feel my unique combination of my sales degree from the state of Wisconsin (class of 2010), 10 years of investigative experience in Revenue Protection, and a deep passion of fragrances give me an efficient, special, & trusted service in the fragrance vendor market. As your fragrance guardian- I give your memories eternal youth. "Buy this vintage fragrance; and your memories will never grow even one day older. Don't buy it, and continue to watch the past fade. Siempre viva - Live forever!" (...End of listing).
