The techniques, originated by the first French impressionists and the expressionists who followed, are greatly explored by current painters, yet rarely are they mastered with Duaiv’s finesse. He has found a balance between these two great traditions in Fine Art and created a style that is truly his own. In his movement beyond the confines of his traditional influences, Duaív has secured his place as a contemporary master. His work is deeply rooted in the French impressionist tradition, yet filled with an expressionist’s emotive passion. Duaív’s palette is strikingly vibrant and sets him apart from other painters working in the French tradition. He infuses his paintings with the poetry of a life deeply felt. Duaív effectively orchestrates color to engage and captivate, drawing the viewer into the moment when the light and shadow of a landscape or street scene bursts into harmony. Upon close inspection of a Duaív canvas, one sees that the first impression of time and place is only the surface. Colors mix and flow as if the entire painting could change at any moment. The greens of a shrub reveal hints of purple and red creating a richness of texture and a luxurious surface. Paints are not mixed on a palette, but on the canvas at the moment of application. The effect is mystifying in its sense of fluidity and can appear accidental, yet it is masterfully controlled. Duaív uses various palette knives to imbue his work with the undulations of texture that is synonymous with his work. Having won many awards and accolades, such as the "Greci Marino," International Academecian, Commander of the Order of the Star of Europe and the European Foundation Price to mention a few. Duaív is acclaimed and collected not only in his native France, but with an ever expanding following throughout Europe, South America and North America. FORN-SHELF-0677-BB-0524-HK1524
