About the Souvenir Sheet:The souvenir sheet was designed to cap ture and convey an imagined view, an example of the Brazilian environment. Inspired by the richness of the rivers and their biodiversity, each postage stamp depicts fish that symbolize the interde pendence between species and environ mental balance. The artwork explores the fluidity of the currents and the beauty of the details, with colors and textures that refer to the waters, species and their char acteristics. The postage stamp of the top features drawings of Two-spot Tetra fish (Lambari de Rabo Amarelo). In the center, the postage stamp on the left shows two specimens of the Acestrorhynchus lacus tris (no common name, Peixe-cachorro is Dogfish in free translation), and the post age stamp on the right, a Peacock bass (Brazilian Tucunaré). At the bottom of the souvenir sheet, the postage stamp fea tures an illustration of the Hypostomus af finis (a kind of catfish named “Cascudo” in Brazil). The techniques used were colored pencils with watercolors, gouache washes and computer graphics.
