Description: Here is my big, beautiful girl that we are adding to our line-up: she is a Kestner 166. We has one of these a few years ago, much, much smaller, maybe 16 or 18 inches in size. This lady is HUGE and very nice with just a few flaws which we will tell you about. But first the happy-happys! This girl is 29 inches tall, a shoulder head bisque, in good condition with no big issues noted. She does have big dark blue paperweight eyes that seem to make her look a bit surprised. She has a lush mane of gorgeous auburn human hair. Just a special note: here at Muffie's Moppets, we try our very best to use human hair or mohair wigs on all of our dolls to show our customers the care we put into our dolls so that they know when they buy from us, they are getting the very nicest antique and reproduction, refreshed dolls around. All the clothes are clean and mended and ready for display! Okay, plug over...back to the doll...Our Kestner is on a kid leather body that seems to be in great shape, although at one time, someone reinforced the knee joints, so we made sure that was secure. Her arms appear to be made of composition. Now for, the problem areas, which aren't awful! She does have the tip of her pinky missing on her right hand. ( See photo) This was something we did not even notice at first, and since her other fingers seemed okay, we let it fly, rather than replacing both arms. The other glaring problem is that she has a gouge on her right cheek ( See photo). Whether this was a flaw that happened when the head was unmolded or it happened since then, we have no idea, but judge for yourself. Again, these things do not bother us, as collectors. For some people, they seems to like these irregularities. Perfectionists are driven crazy by them. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, is it not? Our Kestner is wearing a heavy patterned cotton child's dress with a raised bodice with lace inserts and many pin-tucks along the hemline. The dress has cute puffed sleeves that end in a little cuff above her elbow. She is also wearing a stiff crinoline full slip and soft pantalettes, and stockings, all in a cream color. A pretty black brooch with gold flowers and a gold frame takes center stage on the doll's bodice. Her fantastic black velvet hat glimmers with "jewels" and wonderful ostrich feather float above and to the side of it. Two pearl topped hat pins keep her hat in place. Don't look now! Here is one little girl who is growing up as fast as she can! Payment is due within 24 hours unless prior arrangements have been made with the seller. We do have lay away now! Just ask! PLEASE! If your item is over $50.00, make sure you add in the extra $5.00 for insurance and handling! If not, your package will not be insured and if it is lost, stolen, or damaged, you will be responsible!!
