Description: This is a set of three vintage Sidney Z. Lucas framed French hand colored etchings / prints depicting antique French carriages. Each is matted and measures 11-1/2" X 9-1/2" (the etchings measures 7" X 5"). They are in their original frames. The frames are in good condition but show slight vintage wear. The etchings are signed by Sidney Z. Lucas and include a circular symbol with the initials SZL (meaning they were issued by the Paris Etching Society).Beginning in the 1920's and lasting until the 1960's, Sidney Lucas owned the Old Print Center in New York and ran the Camilla Lucas Gallery where he was in the business of both wholesale art publishing and retail art sales, dealing with prints as well as reproduction of prints. He also formed the Paris Etching Society, where he traveled to Europe and commissioned prints by primarily French and Flemish artists. These were all original, hand-colored aquatints or etchings. These three etchings are examples from the Paris Etching Society. Please examine my pictures carefully as they are the best descriptors. Any questions, please email. Thanks!
