3 VINTAGE Heavy Bavarian Pottery Beer Steins - Moninger, Park Brau, Spatenbrau

Description: THREE HEAVY vintage stoneware / pottery steins or beer mugs from Bavaria, Germany. They are each in varying degrees of GOOD vintage condition. They are older and have been used and it shows. One is a full liter size and two are half liter sizes. The one of the far right is from the city KARLSRUHE, Germany. This one shows it's age in crazing and superficial cracks. Look at the photo with the closeup of the red "K" -- you can see how the whole mug is crazed. It is finished in a cream glaze and features the words, "Moninger-Bräu" and Karlsruhe. Sources online cite this as from the 1950s. That concurs with the time period my father was in Germany. A fantastic 75-year old item to add to your stein collection! The one in the middle is definitely newer. It is advertises Parkbräu (made since 1888 in Pirmasens, Germany), with their stylized red "P" figure with a hat and stein of foaming beer. It also says, "frisch vom Faß" or "fresh from the barrel." It is a crisp gray. The one on the left is older -- online sources indicate at least 1960. It feels older -- it's a hand-thrown pottery item. You can see where the potter applied the handle. It features Spatenbräu's coat of arms which includes a shovel or spade with the letters G & S. Spatenbräu is still made in Munich, Germany (confirmed by the words on the Stein -- "München). This one was finished with a heavy earthy taupe glaze, which has discolored on the face -- it has an orange film that has accumulated. I cleaned it but it may have stained the glaze. There is also a stone showing through on the rim that has oxidized orange. Finally, there is split in the clay on bottom of the interior. It does not go all the way through the mug.
