According to pipephil.eu , H&B (Hirschl & Bendheim) "The firm had its own factory in Washington (MO) and was Missouri Meerschaum's Co (M.M.) strongest competitor. The company motto, "From Father to Son Since 1871" accompanied its trademark-letterhead for 120 years, until H & B was bought out by M.M. in the early 1990s." The pipes average about 5 3/4 inches long from bottom of bowl to end of bit. Bowl chamber diameter averages just over 3/4 inch and bowl depth averages about 1 nch. Light caking in bowl. Light tooth wear on end of bit - chatter. Filter type. Part of sticker may or may not be worn away but identification is usually visible A classic beauty. Normal wear and tear (dings, oxidation and scratches) for an estate pipe. Nice overall shape and condition.
