Before turning on the light, adjust the focus knob to make sure the focus is in Spot Mode , where the bulb is furthest away from the lens. 2. Then turn on the power and warm up the light body for a minute, after this the focus can be adjusted to Flood Mode --- where the bulb will be closest to the lens. 3. Otherwise the lens could easily be cracked due to the sudden heat coming from the bulb being very close.
