Description: This auction is for a vintage and historical 4X6 black and white glossy photo of Walt Disney himself riding in a 1964 Ford Galaxie Convertible at the Ford Pavillion at the 1964 - 1965 New York World's Fair. Walt is sitting on the rear seat. The other two men are Henry Ford II (Henry Ford's grandson), who at that time was President of Ford Motor Company, is sitting in the driver's seat. Robert Moses (New York residents will know that name well!) is in the passenger's seat who was the President of the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair and also a major designer of the fair. For it's pavilion at the fair, Ford Motor Company brought in Walt Disney to design a "unique and memorable entertainment adventure". This became the 'MAGIC SKYWAY RIDE' in which guests sat in Ford Convertibles through a Disney designed show. Cars included the Galaxie, the Thunderbird and the newly introduced and revealed at this fair, the infamous 1964 1/2 Mustang. (FACT: A dozen 1964 1/2 Mustangs were included in the ride replaced with new models in 1965. The Mustangs on the ride were modified for the ride at a cost of $1,100 each and were sold after the fair as used cars.) They also included some Mercurys such as the Comet and the Monterey. The ride traveled through time into the ancient past and the future. In the photo, on the left on the upper corner of the photo you can see the tail end of a Thunderbird. It is an actual photo and is printed by a photo lab and not on a home computer. It will not have the small yellow ebay papers on it and is much clearer than it may appear here. Shipping is $1.00. It will be shipped in lightweight cardboard protectors and in a plain envelope. ***Please use the cart for multiple purchases or I will have to charge you a separate auction fee for each item which is what ebay charges me.*** I always combine shipping whenever possible. Thanks for your interest!
