#514 Heinz RARE #260 Tomato Juice Restored Vintage / Antique Bottle 1930

Description: #514 Heinz #260 Tomato Juice, Owens Illinois, 1930. Crown/cork top. 5-5/16” x 2” Up for sale! RARE Vintage Heinz 4 oz Tomato Juice bottle, restored to its former beauty with a reproduction front label and a neck tag identifying year and manufacturer. This one isn't even properly listed in the Heinz bottle codes pdf online, as they call #260 a ketchup bottle with "frosted" glass, and this is not frosted, nor did it hold ketchup. I have found pics of it online (that's how I got the starting picture data for the label obviously), but not many! That's why I'm calling this bottle rare, and pricing it accordingly. I've got a lead on some antique Heinz shell cork stoppers, and if I do obtain them, I will add one with the cork, and fill bottle with actual tomato juice and upload updated pics. $2 Bill for scale only and not included in listing. These are dug bottles from a bottle dump dating from the mid 1800's to the 1950's, with the majority of the finds dating in the 1930's. Most of these bottles have spent around three days in a tumbler with upwards of three different cutting and polishing compounds in an attempt to restore them to their former beauty. I have also spent many hours attempting to identify their original labels, sourcing pictures from the net, photoshopping them, then printing and applying these custom labels.In a few cases, I have not been able to correctly identify the original label/contents of a bottle (sometimes because there aren't any makers marks but otherwise mostly due to the fact that there aren’t complete comprehensive databases out there for all of the makers marks) and have therefore employed some artistic license to approximate the label. If you happen to know for a fact what a particular bottle held, please pm me, as I do appreciate history and knowledge and will surely add that information to the databases I am compiling.I learned once that an artist shouldn’t sell themselves short because only they know the amount of effort that went into a creation, and because of that, there are no “best offers” on these bottles. I have been researching, cleaning, photoshopping, and sourcing materials for over a year to the tune of five hundred bottles thus far, with more on the horizon. I have purchased tumbling compounds, cork stoppers, screw tops, a new printer, ink, label paper, brushes, acid, and many other supplies just to get these bottles to their current conditions. I even had to upgrade my computer to support the workload of the photoshopping. So please, do not ask me if you can get a price reduction. If you love a particular bottle, love it for the work I have put into it and the novelty of owning a piece of history. I am PROUD to say that my work is featured in two museums and one upcoming TV show as a prop, so if these entities can recognize the effort I have put into these restorations, I ask that you do also.
