Description: How much does paracord weigh? The military specification requires that Type III paracord (550 cord) not weigh more than 0.071 ounces/foot (6.61 grams/meter). In other words, 7.1 ounces per 100 feet. 1000 feet would weigh approximately 72 ounces or 4.5 pounds. Spool #1 weighs 4 lbs. 3 oz and Spool #2 weighs 4 lbs 7 oz. I am estimating Spool #1 has approximately 990'-995' of unused paracord.I am estimating Spool # 2 has approximately 995'-1000' of unused paracord. These are estimations based on weight of existing cord. They are priced accordingly to the amount of cord left on the spool. I do not believe spool #2 has any cord missing but I'm just not sure. I don't know how much the spool itself weighs so I can not get an accurate weight on the cord itself. These would be perfect for making lanyards, keychains, bracelets, knife handle wraps or any other survival application. Cut into smaller chucks.
